WHAT IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF WEALTH? — (Blogtostay)

No doubt about it, we all know that people want to become wealthier with the assumption that such could make them happier.

According to research, it was noticed that people are generally happier than many psychologists assumed.
Which states that some were clearly doing better than others. And the fact is that you couldn’t even necessarily group their happiness based on income, geography, or education.

This is a known fact because so many in the categories stated above end up chronically unhappy.
Then, what is the highest form of wealth?
Does becoming wealthy necessitate being happy?

According to Campbell:—–
“Having a strong sense of controlling one’s life is a more dependable predictor of positive feelings of wellbeing, than any of the objective conditions of life we have considered.”

To see how Campbell’s quotation makes sense to what we are discussing.
A friend of mine wanted to become an investment banker right from an early age.

On his first day in the office, he came to realize why investment bankers make a lot of money.
Their life is that of the workaholic who works longer and more controlled hours than any human could handle.

At the preliminary, the job was intellectually stimulating, well paying, and gave him a sense of importance. But later, he realized that every waking second of his time became a slave to his Boss’s demands.

And this was enough to turn his whole life into one of the most miserable experiences of his life.
According to my friend, his work was supposed to be a four-month internship, but it lasted only a month.

While lamenting further, he came to the terms that the hardest thing was that he loved the work. And wanted to work harder.

But imagine doing something you love on a schedule you can’t control, which could feel the same as doing something you hate. Psychologists call this kind of situation REACTANCE.

A University professor at the University of Pennsylvania summed it up well in this format:
“People like to feel like they are in control – in the driver’s seat. When we try to get them to do something, they feel disempowered.
Rather than feeling like they made the choice, they feel like we made it for them.
So they say no or do something else, even when they might have originally been happy to go along.”

The Pennsylvania University professor is trying to let us know that if you cannot feel like you made the choice of work even when directed by your Boss be happy to go along.

Then it will be easier when you realize how true it is to align money towards a life that lets you do what you want when you want, with whom you want, where you want, and for as long as you want it. And this has an incredible return at last.

I think that this discussion now is trying to center on control over your time.
So, since controlling your time is such a key happiness influencer, this should remind us that people don’t feel much happier even when they are on average richer than ever.

Then what do we do about this?
And for our information, this does not look like an easy problem to solve, because everyone’s different.

So the first step is to merely acknowledge what does, and what does not make almost everyone happy. According to interviews with thousands of elderly people in America to ascertain the most important lessons they learn from decades of experience. It states and I quote:

1). No single person out of thousands said that to be happy is to make a whole lot of money by working hard.
2). No one said that the choice at work should be made based on desired future earnings.
3). No one not even a single soul said that, to be happy you have to be wealthier than people around you.

Among them interviewed said that what they do value were things like quality friendship, being a part of something bigger than themselves, and the opportunity to spend quality and unstructured time with their children.

You have to know very well that your kids do not need your money, what they need is you, and they definitely want you with them.
Spending quality time with them brings all the happiness asap.

Know this today, controlling your time is the highest dividend money pays.
So the highest form of wealth is the ability to do what you want, when you want, with whom you want, for as long as you want.

And this also is priceless. Just the highest divided money pays.
