Procrastination or Deadline-Driven.
I procrastinate a lot and yet my most successful work comes out of this fearful trait called procrastination which almost everybody indulges in.
And remember, procrastination is the thief of time, does it mean that those stolen times of mine by procrastination are retrieved all but a sudden at the dying minutes?
If so, then how do I achieve such a fit or how does it happen?
Maybe, I use what is called, “Deadline-Driven” without knowing what makes me profiting by procrastination.
What is deadline-driven?
This is the tendency to work most effectively under pressure, and to excel when faced with imminent deadlines.
It often results in heightened focus and productivity as the deadline approaches.
Then this is how I achieve this fit.
Assuming I have a week ahead to finish a project, I don’t normally have the zeal to begin executing that project even when I sit in front of my computer to write, I feel lost and empty to the extent that I will engage myself with other things abstract from what I supposed to do.
To be sincere with you, this happens unconsciously most times. Only a few times do I engage in such procrastinating behaviour knowingly.
But within my mind, I will flash out all other memories, and keep on picturing a way to achieve the end result of the project, while even performing other tasks.
This I equally do when about to sleep and when I wake up early in the morning before carrying out other activities.
With this, I might have recorded the solutions to my problems directly into my subconscious mind which assembles it and feeds me with accurate solutions.
When the time approaches for me to deliver which indicates that I’m faced with an imminent deadline which is a sign of being under pressure, I will be equipped with so many solutions to my actual problems.
This has won me so many awards at the dying hours, most especially in the field of content writing. This was how I won the RankMath article award in October 2023.
Then, what do we call this kind of occurrence, do we call it procrastination or a call to action due to a deadline-driven attitude?
Well, to my understanding, this should be referred to as getting prepared subconsciously(spiritually), before delivering the solution consciously(physically.)
Remember, our subconscious mind is the mirror through which we see things through to the physical realm.
In this aspect now, it does not mean that I’m procrastinating, it means that I’m using a bit of the time to prepare myself for the task spiritually before the actual execution of the physical.
This is because everything physical has been recorded in the spiritual realm before existence.
So after these conscious and unconscious preparations, I was able to deliver some marvelous pieces of work.
Any project prepared in this format hardly becomes mediocre work.
